This unfortunately is happening across the city. I thought carriages had locking mechanisms on them to prevent them from leaving parking lots. Perhaps we should consider more severe fines to deter this type of behavior. I see the public at large pushing these carriages in various locations across the city.

Great idea RS now tell it to someone in power to actually do it. IMO it's worth even more than a fine, it's criminal, it's STOLEN property!

Not all companies use the locking mechanism.
If the carriage is on private property, the City will not pick it up. But if there is a name on it, the Retrieval Company (depending on the owner of the carriage owner) will go on the private property.. Double check the handle.

So, having a shopping carriage on their property makes it their personal property and not retrievable? Little ludicrous, no?

Don't play on words. It is still not "their" personal property. It is still the property of the cart owner. Not retrievable by the City-Not on City property - On "private" property. It is trespassing. The Retrieval Company will pick it up. As long as they know about it.

Wow, the weirdest thing happened! These carriages must have wings! It mysteriously moved down a block now in front of and in public property at that small children's park corner of Neponset and Sagamore!!!

This is a duplicate issue and is being addressed by the DPW.
